Yu Takanashi, a physician and former surgeon, has been dispatched to the General Diagnostic Department of Tenikai General Hospital. This department gathers patients deemed "difficult to diagnose" by other departments. The head of the General Diagnostic Department is Takao Ameku, the niece of the hospital director, Owashi Ameku, and Takao is also the vice director of the hospital.
Takao's unique personality and behavior are uncontrollable by anyone except her sister, Mazuru Ameku, who is the hospital's administrative director. The resident doctor, Mai Kounoike, even refers to Takao's behavior as the "Takao Ameku Theater". Yu is initially stunned by Takao's demeanor but is soon amazed by her abilities. Takao is, in fact, a genius doctor with an astonishing diagnostic capability.
This mystery story follows Takao Ameku, a diagnostician with Autism Spectrum Disorder, as she utilizes her overwhelming knowledge and insight to unravel perplexing symptoms, difficult cases, and even the mysteries of supernatural phenomena.
