Tetsuro returns home for the first time in 10 years to save his family's business from a crisis, and is completely lost for words at the sight of their Ryokan (Japanese style hotel) in disarray.
The dignity and service of the long-established Ryokan with a 100-year tradition is gone, and the place is occupied by awkward employees.
And, for some reason, Tetsuro is unable to set foot in the Ryokan which is his parents' house...
