Ko, a young vet, is hired by a small veterinary clinic run by an old vet. Tokumaru located in Kagurazaka, Tokyo. Kagurazaka used to be famous as a Geisha district in Edo era (17th~19th century) and it is still known for its picturesque cobblestone streets and old Japanese culture. Practically every pet owner of the area of this small and close neighborhood comes to this clinic. Ko is eager to assist and learn from Tokumaru, but he disappears with a note saying “The clinic is all yours now.” Left alone, Ko’s busy but caring vet life starts with beloved pets and their owners each with their unique lives and worries. Ko is young but his mindset is calm and caring like that of an old vet and yet his surgical skill is quick and superb. He calls his patient animals “Tails,” and as he cures the Tails he seems to be curing the hearts of the owners as well.
