DRAMA REMAKE The Weather Girl Knows お天気お姉さんA brilliant yet quirky weather girl and a rookie detective tackle cases where weather is the key to unlocking the puzzling crimes. The Weather Girl Knows is a story about Haruko, an unusually blunt and unpretentious weather geek who grew up at an orphanage upon her genius father’s death at sea and who has now become a popular TV weather forecaster. One day, a young laid-back detective called Gota is investigating a case and Haruko insists that the weather of the day is related to the crime. From there on, each week the two investigate mysteries relying on the Haruko’s vast knowledge of tricks that climate and weather patterns can cause. From ball lightning to inverted atmospheric layers and full moons to mummification, nothing is too tempestuous for the weather girl to solve. With real-world science at the core of this procedural crime drama, there are also side-stories that feature Haruko’s colleague being stalked, a love triangle and what led Haruko to become the youngest qualified climatologist.
